We as a company made the decision to start an initiative with the objective to help the Ukrainian refugees in need. Involving all our Sylvania employees and our business partners, using our logistic capabilities we are determined to offer help to these people fleeing their home country and seeking refuge in Hungary. After contacting several organisations in the past weeks we partnered with Hungarian Baptist Aid to support children and women in need in the most efficient way.

About Hungarian Baptist Aid
The goal of HBAid has been to help people in need within and outside Hungary, In the last few decades HBAid grew to be one of the largest aid organizations in Hungary. As a public benefit organization, working with 3000 full-time staff members and hundreds of volunteers, the value of the aid’s work can be measured in several millions of EURs.

Our plan is to collect shoebox donations in our major offices across EMEA and transport the donations to our Budapest HQ office, where our special team will process and distribute them to the right places with the help of our partner: HBAid. We do not collect monetary donations, but rather focus on collecting goods that the refugees need the most. Based on the experience and advice of HBAid, you can help the most by sending the following products:

• non-perishable foods (e.g. canned food)
• baby care materials
• healthcare and hygiene products (deodorant, soap, disinfectants, feminine and baby hygiene products)
• polar blankets and sheets

If you are looking to contribute and help, please kindly offer us products from the list above as these are the products the refugees need the most and can improve their life at present. In case you are not in a position to send your donation in a shoebox, please still send it, we do our best to get enough shoeboxes to our offices.
